StandardHash Review:Antminer S21

The Antminer S21 miner is a high-performance Bitcoin mining machine launched by Bitmain. This miner aprocess more advanced than TSMC’s 5nm chip technology, which significantly enhances its energy efficiency compared to previous models. This application of new chip technology allows the Antminer S21 to achieve outstanding performance in energy efficiency. Official specifications include a hash rate of 200 TH/s and power consumption of 3500W.

Below, Standard Hash brings you the latest review:

  1. Unboxing and Photos The Antminer S21 comes in a 5-layer sturdy packaging box. The miner is wrapped in an anti-static bag and suspended in packaging with pearl cotton inside the top and bottom covers, providing excellent shockproof protection.

The box includes one mining machine, one 16A power cord, and one instruction manual (in Chinese, English, and Korean).

If there is no C19 interface power strip available, and only a 16A three-prong socket is present, you will need to prepare one yourself. Due to the high power of the mining machine, up to 3500W, the power cord’s wire standard also requires 4000W. Additionally, you will need to prepare one Ethernet cable yourself.

The Antminer S21 miner integrates a power supply, three hashing boards (each with 108 chips), a controller, and its chassis is made of sturdy alloy material, robust and durable.

On the back of the miner, the left side features a grille design on the exhaust outlet of the power unit, facilitating airflow. On the right side, there are four 12cm exhaust fans, each with two 4-pin connectors, capable of spinning at up to 7000 RPM to expel air from this side.

On the front of the miner, on the left side, there is the mining unit with the controller unit on top. Below the mining unit, there are two 12cm exhaust fans with a maximum speed of 7000 RPM for air intake. On the right side, there is the power unit with three 8cm exhaust fans for air intake. Below the right side is where the power interfaces are located.

3 Commissioning

After powering on, the miner’s IP address will be automatically assigned. Search for the latest connected IP devices.

Then enter the miner’s IP address into the browser to access the miner’s backend. You will first arrive at the login page of the Antminer S21 control interface. The default username and password are both (root).

image

Setting up mining on the Antminer S21 requires only two steps. The first step is network configuration, which defaults to DHCP protocol (automatic IP allocation; ensure this feature is enabled on your router).

image

Alternatively, you can use the Static protocol (manually set the miner’s IP address; note that each user’s network settings may vary slightly).

image

The second step is pool configuration. Enter the information provided by the mining pool, and remember to save the settings after configuration.

image

Then go to the backend homepage, where you can view the mining machine’s operational information.

In the system interface, you can perform login modifications and firmware upgrades.

4 . Testing

After powering on the Antminer S21, as long as you configure the mining pool and network settings in the backend, the miner will automatically adjust and start running.

Due to consecutive days of high temperatures, we simulated an extreme testing environment. The ambient temperature was around 32 degrees Celsius during the day and around 28 degrees Celsius at night, with a temperature difference of 4 degrees between day and night. After the miner entered its working state, it maintained an average hash rate of 201T-204T. During the day, the power consumption measured approximately 3780 watts, while at night, it measured approximately 3777 watts.

During long-term operation, the hash rate curve remains stable.

During this test, the indoor ambient temperature was 32 degrees Celsius during the day.

image

Regarding noise, when the miner operates stably and the fans reach their maximum speed of 7000 RPM, the noise level measured approximately 89 dBA at a distance of 20 cm from the fans.

image

Regarding temperature, during normal operation of the miner, the inlet temperature measures 33 degrees Celsius, while the outlet temperature measures 39 degrees Celsius.

5 Summary

1. The Antminer S21 miner features a new generation of chips which utilize a process more advanced than TSMC’s 5nm chip technology.

In practical testing, the average hashrate during extended operation is 201T-204T. The power measured during the day is about 3777w, and the power measured at night is about 3650w.

2. With mature manufacturing processes, high-level research and development, and excellent after-sales support, this miner will maintain its leading position for a long time through continuous optimization.

3. In terms of noise and heat generation, the miner may produce slightly higher noise levels in warmer ambient temperatures. However, its reliable cooling system ensures stable operation over extended periods.
